Comprehension is the highest level of use of hearing. Educationally, the goal is for students to continually increase their ability to comprehend spoken language by increasing the length and complexity of the utterances that are understood. There are many evaluation tools that can be used to measure auditory comprehension. These tools are used routinely by speech/language pathologists, audiologists, reading specialists and educators.
