Rural Health

Rural populations, particularly rural minorities, experience marked disparities in measures of health, healthcare outcomes, and healthcare access. The characteristics of rural areas include (a) geographic isolation, (b) lower socio-economic status, (c) higher rates of health risk behaviors, and (d) limited job opportunities.
